Collagen Cold Brew and Paleo Coconut Creamer

Hi there! Maybe you’ve heard of collagen before, maybe not. And no, I’m not talking about the lip injections. I’m talking about grass-fed collagen hydrolysate. It’s amazing and it’s becoming all the rage, and for good reason. Basically, it’s a powder that you can mix into just about any liquid and it provides you with specific essential amino acids that are amazing for healing your gut, skin, hair, nails, and building lean mass. I personally use it in smoothies and will also make or purchase bone broth which has a ton of collagen in it as well BUT to ensure I get a daily dose, I’ve been putting it in my morning cold brew coffee! It’s essentially flavorless and mixes pretty well on its own, but I’ve come up with a trick to make it super delicious and creamy!

So what I do is I mix my cold brew (I prefer Chameleon cold brew. It’s the best), collagen and homemade coconut creamer (recipe below) in my Ninja blender and it comes out frothy and so yummy! I then pour it over ice into one of my trusty Star Wars cups (today was Boba Fett) and drink up! You’ve got to try it for yourself! Your gut, skin, muscles and hair will thank you!

COLLAGEN COLD BREW AND PALEO COCONUT CREAMER

Ingredients:

4 oz Chameleon Cold Brew Concentrate (or your favorite cold brew)

4 oz water

2 tablespoons Paleo Coconut Creamer (recipe below)

1 tablespoon grass-fed collagen hydrolysate

For the creamer:

1 can full fat coconut milk

5-6 deglet dates or 3-4 medjool dates, soaked in warm water until soft

1/2 teaspoon organic vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon sea salt

Directions:

For the creamer:

In a blender or food processor combine all creamer ingredients. Blend until dates are fully combined. Store in an airtight container with a lid. I used a large mason jar. Make sure you leave a little room so you can shake your creamer before use.

For the coffee:

Combine cold brew concentrate, water, collagen and creamer in a blender. Blend on high for roughly 15- 20 seconds. Collagen will form a frothy layer at the top. This is totally normal. Pour over ice and enjoy!
